Jose Mourinho is known for his hard approach to his players and few suffered that quite as much as Cristiano Ronaldo during their shared time at Real Madrid.
Despite the No.7 so often being the difference maker for Los Blancos, the coach always wanted more from his forward.
"Once Mou killed Cristiano Ronaldo after he scored a hat-trick," Emmanuel Adebayor revealed to the Daily Mail.
"He told him that 'everyone says you're the best in the world, but you're playing very badly, show me that you are the best'."
It wasn't the only time the Portuguese had harsh words at an unexpected moment, with the whole squad receiving similar treatment on another occasion.
"We were winning 3-0 at half time," the Togolese said.
"Mourinho came into the dressing room and kicked the fridge, threw the water over and killed us all."
Having also played under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, the forward said that the two coaches had strikingly different styles.
"One is calm and the other isn't," Adebayor explained.
"I remember one day we were losing 2-1 at Arsenal and we were playing badly.
"Wenger came in and said: 'Calm down, we're playing perfect, we have 65 percent possession', but Thierry Henry replied by saying: 'Who cares? We're losing!'.
"That's the difference between Wenger and Mourinho."
